DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our Quarterly Member Meeting breakfast on Wednesday\, October 10 from 7:30am - 9am at the Caledonia Resource Center\, featuring guest speaker Caledonia Community School Superintendent Dr. Dedrick Martin (see Bio below). \n\n\n\nDr. Martin will give an update on the completion of bond projects and improvements in the district\, and also share information regarding the additional millage authorization request for the school district that will be on November's ballot.\n\n\n\nDuring the meeting\, you will be invited to introduce yourself and the business/organization you represent.  Continental breakfast served.\n\n\n\nBIO\n\nDr. Dedrick Martin began leading the Caledonia Community School as superintendent in July 2018. Currently the Caledonia Community School District serves approximately 5\,000 students.\n\n \n\nPrior to his selection as the superintendent in Caledonia\, he served as the Superintendent of St. Johns Public Schools for nearly 5 years before being appointed by the State Superintendent as the Director of Partnership School Districts and State School Reform Officer for the Michigan Department of Education. Dr. Martin also served as the Superintendent of Ypsilanti Public Schools from 2009 until 2013.\n\n \n\nDr. Martin is originally from Muskegon\, Michigan. He has earned a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University\, a Masters of Educational Administration from the University of Houston and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Michigan State University.\n\n \n\nHe has been married for over 20 years and has two teenaged sons who are actively involved in various extracurricular activities.
